No-exam life insurance

Which candidates can skip the exam, what happens instead, and your options if the carrier asks for one.

Many carriers now provide fast-track underwriting: for applicants within certain age brackets and benefit limits, decisions rely on your application, pharmacy records, driving history and other data rather than a physical exam. Approvals can come back the same business day. Each quote here shows whether the carrier wants an exam, might want one, or does not require one.

What it changes

Skipping the exam does not skip the underwriting process. All your statements are checked, and a policy written on untrue information can be disputed during the first two years. If underwriting finds concerns, the carrier may ask for an exam or testing—you decide whether to go forward.

Who tends to qualify

Candidates for accelerated review are typically below about age sixty, seeking amounts within the carrier's guidelines, reporting no serious medical conditions and no tobacco use within the past year or longer. Prior lab work from a doctor's recent visit sometimes substitutes for an exam.

If an exam becomes necessary, you typically receive a visit from a certified examiner lasting twenty to thirty minutes at your home or workplace in Lemon Grove, entirely at no cost. Clean health findings often boost your rate class, so undergoing an exam need not be unfavorable.
